Steamed
Oysters
Ingredients:
1 dozen
Rappahannock
River
Brand
oysters
(either
shucked
on the
half
shell
or in
both
shells),
per
serving
Directions:
Pour
an inch or two of
water and half a
beer into a steamer
and turn on high.
Arrange
oysters
on colander
or tray
that
you
will
put
on top
of the
steamer
pot.
Cover
the
top
and
keep
on high
for
5 to
10 minutes,
depending
on amount
of oysters.
Check
to see
if oysters
have
opened
up (if
on shell).
Enjoy
Serving
Suggestions:
Steamed
oysters
can
be enjoyed
in many
ways:
by themselves,
dipped
in melted
butter,
sprinkled
with
lemon
juice
or topped
with
hot
sauce.
Also
any
of these
options
goes
great
with
a ritz
or saltine.
